Milestone: One Million Downloads on GRO.data
GRO.data, the research data publication repository for users of the Göttingen Campus and the Academic Cloud, has recently reached one million downloads.
The Göttingen eResearch Alliance is delighted with the positive development of GRO.data and its acceptance on the Göttingen campus and beyond. It proves once again the efficiency of the services offered, which also promotes the aspect of reusability in the sense of the FAIR principles.
Listed in the Registry of Research Data Repositories and in international search portals such as DataCite Commons, GRO.data is also characterised by its national and international visibility.
GRO.data is based on the open source tool Dataverse. It has been adapted by the Göttingen eResearch Alliance to fit well into the local infrastructure and to allow access via single sign-on, i.e. with your Academic ID.
The Georg-August-Universität Göttingen initiated and finances the development and support of GRO.data through the Göttingen eResearch Alliance. The service is hosted by the GWDG, which is responsible for the security of the data, including backups and access control, as well as the availability and reliability of the service.
