Goodbye 2024, Welcome 2025: Here’s What Awaits!

Happy New Year! The Göttingen eResearch Alliance wishes you all a happy, healthy and successful 2025. We start this new year with a brief review of 2024 and a look ahead to what 2025 has in store.

The year 2024 had some highlights in various areas and some of these highlights should be briefly mentioned here:

Services

The research data repository GRO.data reached the 1 million downloads mark in 2024. GRO.plan and GRO.data have also been included in the AcademicCloud and can now be used throughout Lower Saxony.

FDM@Campus

The joint conference FDM@Campus was organised by the eRA in Göttingen for the first time. More than 60 national and international participants were guests in Göttingen.

Cooperation with FDMNDS

The eRA is pleased about the close cooperation with the State Initiative Research Data Management Lower Saxony in 2024 and looks forward to further collaboration.

eRA goes Mastodon

In November 2024, the eRA started its activities on Mastodon. In its first two months of activity, the eRA posted 28 toots and gained 66 followers. In December, the eRA also published its Advent calendar 2024, which mainly consisted of posts from FDM@Campus.

The eRA is very satisfied with these developments over the past year and is continuing to work on improving its services in 2025.

Welcome 2025!

In 2025, the eRA is looking forward to continuing and further developing successful programmes and collaborations. Some developments are already taking shape and should be briefly mentioned here.

FDM@Campus 2025

The response to FDM@Campus-2024 is reason enough to organise a second edition of the joint conference! Planning for FDM@Campus-2025 is therefore in full swing and the eRA hopes to be able to publish a save-the-date as soon as possible.
