eRA “Adventskalender” Door 3: NFDI4Energy & NFDI4 BioImage
Did you know? The eRA Adventskalender is also distributed via our socials on Mastodon and X / Twitter.
Today the eRA presents two posters from the conference FDM@Campus:
An Energy Data Service Platform for Whom? Understanding the Needs of the Energy Research Community – Nina Kerker, Soziologisches Forschungsinstitut Göttingen e.V. (SOFI)
You can find the poster on zenodo.
In addition we want to point you to the NFDI4Energy conference taking place from March 24-26 2025 in Karlsruhe: https://nfdi4energy.uol.de/sites/conference/2025/.
New Kid on the Block: NFDI4BIOIMAGE for Research Data Management in Microscopy and Image Analysis in the Life Sciences – Conny Wetzker, TU Dresden
Microscopy is a valued technique in life science research and generates multi-dimensional data of numerous formats and increasing volumes. The provision of instrumentation including maintenance and user support is largely guaranteed by institutions whereas handling and analysis of bio-image data are often less assisted which risks scientific outcome and the reuse of data. Since 2023, the DFG-funded consortium NFDI4BIOIMAGE is active to further implement the FAIR principles in microscopy. Bio-image data and its associated metadata are to be standardized and linked to further data types for comprehensive analysis, visualization and re-use. Reproducible image analysis workflows will be developed and shared and researchers will be empowered to FAIR image data management. For this, scalable infrastructure will be provided as a service. A team of data stewards ensures the interaction of the life science community with the consortium and enables support via a help desk service accessible via helpdesk@nfdi4bioimage.de or forum.image.sc.
