First NFDIs start working
Various institutions of the Göttingen Campus are involved in five of the first nine NFDI consortia who started their work on October 01, 2020. The NFDI (Nationale Forschungdateninfrasturktur) aims to improve and foster infrastrucures for research data in Germany. The consortia are discipline driven and coordinated under the roof of the NFDI Board of Directors.
The following initiatives with participation form the Göttingen Campus started:
- „NFDI4BioDiversity“ – Biodiversity, Ecologie and Environmental Data (involved are the Gesellschaft für wissenschaftliche Datenverarbeitung mbH Göttingen (GWDG), the Niedersächsischen Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek Göttingen (SUB) and the Centre for Statistics)
- „NFDI4Chem“ – Fachkonsortium Chemie in der Nationalen Forschungsdateninfrastruktur (involved is the Institute for Physical Chemistry)
- „NFDI4Culture“ – Consortium for research data on material and immaterial cultural heritage (involved is the SUB)
- „NFDI4Health“ – National Research Data Infrastructure for Personal Health Data (involved is the Institute for Medical Informatics)
- „NFDI4Ing“ Nationale Forschungsdateninfrastruktur für die Ingenieurwissenschaften (involved is the GWDG)
The other successful initiatives of the first round are „DataPLANT“ – Data in PLANT research, „GHGA“ – German Human Genome-Phenome Archive, „KonsortSWD“ – Konsortium für Sozial-, Bildungs-, Verhaltens- und Wirtschaftswissenschaften und „NFDI4Cat“ – NFDI for Catalysis-Related Sciences.
