The GWDG mailing lists are a web-based service that offers the possibility to communicate with a group of selected internal and external recipients and to manage the member list itself.

What this service offers to you

• The list server ensures that your e-mails are sent to all members registered in the mailing list
• Automatic archiving of the e-mails
• Unlimited number of mailing lists

Your advantages

• Powerful fail-safe system for sending a lot of e-mails
• You just send your e-mail to a mailing list address, the list server takes care of the distribution to the mailing list members
• List members can reply to this email address. A moderation function is available that allows you to approve the distribution of an e-mail
• Full administrative access to mailing list and list member settings
• Obsolete e-mail addresses are detected by the system and removed automatically
• If your email domain is hosted by the GWDG, you can also have the mailing list address set up through this domain

You can use the service in this way

• A person (e-mail address) must be assigned to take over the administration of your mailing list
• GWDG users can set up or delete a mailing list in the self-service via the GWDG customer portal: click on “Collaboration” and then on “Mailinglists”
• An alternative possibility offers the service hotline to set up a new mailing list for you: Send a corresponding e-mail to support@gwdg.de, which should contain the following information: Desired e-mail address of the list (e.g. example@gwdg.de or example@institutedomain) and the e-mail address of the person who should administer the list at your site
• Please note that only Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN; e.g. @gwdg.de or @uni-goettingen.de) registered with us can be used
