RfII position paper on the use and utilisation of data

The German Council for Scientific Information Infrastructures (RfII) published a position paper on the use and utilisation of data in the academic community.

Facing diverse discussions about the use, utilisation and marketing of digital data, the RfII has examined different data services at the interfaces of academia, business, civil society and administration.

From the analysis and comparative evaluation of over forty data services from different domains, the RfII derives recommendations on how competition and plurality among data services and their respective business models can be ensured for the greatest possible benefit of science.
